America Maxwell, Resident in Counseling

Feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected? Struggling with stress, relationship challenges, or self-doubt? You don’t have to navigate this alone. Counseling offers a space to explore your thoughts and emotions with curiosity, not judgment. Together, we’ll clarify your values, help you reconnect with what truly matters, and develop practical and effective coping strategies. Whether you’re seeking balance, stronger relationships, or greater confidence, we’ll focus on meaningful steps toward the life you want. You are not broken—your struggles are part of being human. Change starts with small, intentional actions—let’s work together to help you build a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Get to Know Me

I became a counselor thanks to my grandfather, a counselor who encouraged my curiosity about people. As a child, we’d sit at the mall, sipping coffee and imagining the lives of strangers—a pastime that grew into my passion for understanding others. My approach is collaborative and research-driven, drawing from ACT for individuals and Gottman for couples (I gift The 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work at every wedding)! Outside of sessions, I’m running local races, roller skating with friends, or gathered with my big Italian family for Sunday pasta and espresso.
