Kevin Hernandez, LPC

I’m an LPC bringing years of experience working with diverse populations— especially teens, young adults, and males. My work is rooted in trauma-informed,
evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. In our sessions, we will focus on managing active symptoms, deconstructing harmful thought patterns, and building long-term coping strategies.
I am especially committed to working with men as they explore identity, emotional expression, and personal growth. Whether facing career shifts, relationship challenges, or rebuilding after setbacks, I strive to provide a space where clients feel empowered to embrace change.
My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative environment where you feel empowered to take control of your healing journey. I believe therapy should be a space of growth and self-discovery, and I am committed to walking alongside you every step of the way. Let’s work together to create positive, lasting change.

Get to Know Me

I grew up in Maryland in the Latino community, with my father as my primary guardian and parent, where resilience, and perseverance shaped my values. My journey brought me to Virginia, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling from Old Dominion University. Through my own experiences and professional work, I have developed a passion for helping others navigate major life transitions and rediscover their purpose.

Outside of work, I find joy in music, culture, and meaningful conversations. As John Gottman says, “Trust is built in the small moments.” Healing happens not just through reflection, but through the small, intentional steps we take every day. Change is possible, and so is a fresh start.
