Amy Grant, LPC

With nearly two decades of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and families through some of life’s most challenging and transformative moments. My background includes work across a variety of settings—in-home services, residential treatment (both short and long-term), hospitals, schools, and military communities—which has allowed me to meet young people where they are, in every sense of the word.

I use evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavior modification, and trauma-informed approaches to help kids and teens express themselves, build emotional regulation skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I’m especially passionate about supporting families through custody transitions, co-parenting struggles, and behavioral concerns.

More than anything, I believe in the power of connection. I bring warmth, patience, and a playful, engaging energy to my work. Therapy should be a safe space—where children feel seen and heard, and where families feel supported, respected, and empowered.

Get to Know Me

Hi, I’m Amy! I’ve lived in Virginia Beach most of my life, and it’s where I’ve built both my personal and professional roots. Working with children and families is something I feel truly called to do—it’s not just my job, it’s something I care about deeply. Watching a child begin to believe in themselves or seeing a family find connection again is what keeps me doing this work year after year.

When I’m not in session, you can usually find me at the pool, spending time with my two beloved dogs, or planning my next travel adventure. I love exploring new places, but there’s nothing quite like coming home to the beach and the people I love.

“Resilience is not what happens to you. It’s how you react to, respond to, and recover from what happens to you.” – Jeffrey Gitomer
